The Sri Lanka Design Festival 2011, organized for the third consecutive year by the Academy of Design at the Mount Lavinia Hotel Colombo. There are many beautiful and latest stylish wear presented by designers. They showed products including apparels, utensils and interiors made of handloom. It batik textiles, Lac work, ceramics, brass ware, cane, paper, shell and coir created by hundreds of artisans from rural areas of Sri Lanka. The fashion show expanded on the theme with clothing and accessories inspired by traditional crafts. Their new accessories and collection not only perfect but also these give more beautiful look.

Designers especially used the black, grey, brown, red, bright and others dresses in the fashion week. Managing Director of the academy, Linda Speldewinded described the festival as not just fashion event but as a public private partnership that captures the essence of our country and promotes Sri Lanka’s potential in making a mark in the global design industry. Over the course of 5 day festival, workshops, fashion shows and discussions open to artisans, students and design enthusiasts from all backgrounds will conceptualize the theme of this year’s SLDF.
