LG Fashion Week in Toronto


Designers presented their collection at LG Fashion week in Toronto for the 2012 season. The design team is comprised of a Brother and Sister duo that has been around the globe and uses their experiences with their collection. Design Alia Juma created the prints for the collection. They looked stunning on the runway and Alia was a piece from her own collection that looked strong and yet exceptionally feminine on her. The line has gained international recognition and now carried in locations all over the world. Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli came into their own this season as they made pieces that one would expect from none other than the legendary man himself.

The collection was full of lace but the opulence of the house shone through in leathers that were ruche at the waist and cut in long high gloss dresses. The fashion show looks became covered with intricate floral lace that gave a very 1930′s glamour look. Delicate was the cord that would be used to describe most of the collection. It is arguably a collection that will be perceived as an older woman’s line. It is noticed that many lines have moved toward a please the masses routine so it is nice to see Valentino sticking to its roots.

Tulisa Contostavlos lead the charge of over the top glamour at the National Television Awards in London. The star stole the spotlight on the red carpet in a hot pink feathered number. She was sporting a deep tan, possibly leftover from her recent holiday in the Maldives, set off by her shiny silver heels. The 23 year old singer ensured plenty of cleavage was on show in her corseted dress, which featured a lace up back. The red carpet was Lorraine Kelly, who flew the flag for Scotland in a full skirted tartan dress and she posed outside the arena. Elle Macpherson, who earlier this month was dazzling at the Golden Globes, looked sleek in a figure hugging charcoal number. The models arrived in the latest Maria Barros designs made a dramatic impact when they took to the catwalk at Madrid Fashion Week. The silver haired foxes were certainly tresses to impress as they sashayed down the runway in Barros’s autumn winter collection in the Spanish city. The grey wigs and simple makeup appear to represent a new creative on the runway of Barros. She revealed her 2012-2013 collection. Designer play with wool and silk in neutral colours with shades of black, white, grey gave way to greens and burgundy with some featuring a splash of gold.
