In 2011 fashion was more accessible than ever before. Designers talked directly to fans on TV and Twitter and sold cheap chic collections on EBay at H&M, Target and others. There was so much information and so many opinions out there about fashion. It was difficult to find any consensus, much less a trend. Tom Ford’s collection was as bad as everyone suggested. It was with billowing blouses and frothing purple lace that would make Penelope Cruz’s Pirates of the Caribbean character. Their own personal treasure hunts and harem pants still swish the streets of South Yarra with spray tans and uncrushed hair.

Hollywood celebrities Katy Perry, Lauren Conrad and Kate Bosworth, who sported rainbow colored tips this year. It was popular trend of 2011. Bright color is a trend that we saw simultaneously on the red carpet, runways and streets with the Coachella Music and Arts Festival. Skinny jeans didn’t go anywhere this year. They were more popular than ever thanks to a widening range of color options available everywhere. Native American prints were splashed across everything from 1980s era cropped tops. Think back to the fall 2010 D&G runway Proenza Schouler’s fall 2011 collection inspired by Santa Fe and the music festivals.

Tulisa Contostavlos lead the charge of over the top glamour at the National Television Awards in London. The star stole the spotlight on the red carpet in a hot pink feathered number. She was sporting a deep tan, possibly leftover from her recent holiday in the Maldives, set off by her shiny silver heels. The models arrived in the latest Maria Barros designs made a dramatic impact when they took to the catwalk at Madrid Fashion Week. The silver haired foxes were certainly tresses to impress as they sashayed down the runway in Barros’s autumn winter collection in the Spanish city. The grey wigs and simple makeup appear to represent a new creative on the runway of Barros. She revealed her 2012-2013 collection.
